It's fun to work on these challenges for it can really take you out of your comfort zone and stretch your creative muscles! I made a tag/bookmark for this challenge in the style of an art journal:
The back has our turtle friend in triplicate!
To make this I cut out of Vicki Boutin, American Crafts, All the Good Things Foundation Paper, Mixed Media Paper (say that 3Xs fast!) a tag with a large die from my stash. Here is where I had a blast: I colored with crayons, sprayed, splattered, stamped and collaged. Really is very forgiving and freeing!
Our little Meri Oddleigh and turtles were printed on Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper on a laser printer, so that I could watercolor with my Daniel Smith Watercolor Dot Set of paints. I fussy cut our mermaid and used Distress Collage Medium to adhere her to the tag.
I had sized the images for an A2 card, but decided I prefer a mixed media project to showcase them!
The sentiment comes from Altenew's Books are Magic Stamp Set and I thought it went well with our mermaid.
The sentiment and Meri have Faber Castell Big Brush Pen colors used around their edges to set them off from the background. All great fun! Thank you to our sponsor, LeighSBDesigns!
