Top Ten Winners Blog Hop for June 2019

I am honored to have been pick as one of the Top Ten for Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights for June 2019. As a winner, I am invited to participate in a blog hop with the top ten using a theme of encouragement.
Here is my Top Ten winning card:
My absolute favorite card from the new Stampin' Up! annual catalog is called Rare Blessings. It has this beautiful floral image that I used to create my card.
The font is just perfect, too although I did not use any of the sentiments for this card.

I simply white heat embossed the image on a piece a standard Whisper White card stock after using the Embossing Buddy first all over the card. Once totally dry and set, I colored the background with Stampin' Sponges using Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade in that order from the bottom to the top. (use a light circular motion starting off the edge of the card stock.)
Next, I splattered with water all over the card. To do this, I used my insert from a Stampin' Spritzer and gently tapped to make the droplets. I let sit for about 20 seconds and then blotted with a blue shop towel, but any paper towel will do.
To cut the edge I marked the center with a pencil. I used one the those rulers that has a zero in the center so that you can find the center perfectly. Once the center was marked, I moved the ruler over about 3/4" inch and marked the top and bottom with a small pencil mark, too. Then I drew freehand with the pencil, connecting the dots, to create a large circular shape and fussy cut the edge. The Gold Glimmer paper was lined up to the edge and fussy cut, too.
The little word "you" from the Well Written Framelits was die cut from Gold Glimmer paper once and 3 times from Basic Black card stock. All were glued together with Tombow Liquid Adhesive offsetting the black slightly for a shadow effect.
I used the left over colored "sparkly" bits from the front and glued them to the inside. The sentiment is from the new Leave a Little Sparkle Unicorn stamp set. It was heat embossed with the new Shimmer Black Stampin' Emboss Powder and it really does sparkle! So the whole card reads: "You...leave a little sparkle wherever you go".  I have the perfect person in mind for it!

CAS Christmas June Challenge - Lots of Cheer

Hi friends! Welcome to my second blog post tonight. Usually I make 3 or 4 cards over several days and then write the blogs at one time. Tonight is the blog writing night!

I do enjoy the CAS challenges each month. There is the Watercolor Challenge, the Mixed Up Challenge, the Christmas Challenge and lastly the Stencil Challenge. I was able to participate in the Watercolor Challenge (see previous blog post) and also the Christmas Challenge, "Gifts" this month:
My original card idea was to stamp the snowman made out of presents, twice, and create 2 cards. But somewhere along the line, I decided I wanted to fussy cut one and pop it up over the other image for that extra dimension and only have 1 completed card.
The snowman was stamped with Memento Black ink and colored in with Stamp 'n Blends. I usually use 3 to 4 colors for each section to achieve the depth of color needed. I don't stick with the same color either. For example, I used Dark Bermuda Bay for the deepest shadow of the Call Me Clover ribbon. Next, I used my Paper Snips to cut the image.

The image on the base was die cut with a scalloped Layering Oval Framelit. Then I used a Stampin' Sponge and ink blended a Bermuda Bay backdrop, trying to keep it darkest around the image.  I splattered with water, but it didn't really show, so I dabbed Versamark and heat embossed the new Shimmer White Stampin' Emboss Powder. My version of sparkly snow!
The background needed a little something, so I used the Tufted Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder with Whisper White Thick card stock. The sentiment is also from the Lots of Cheer set and was stamped Bermuda Bay ink and die cut with a new Nested Label Framelit.

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas card in June and I look forward to sharing some more of my new Stampin' Up! products!  Here are the links to the items I used for this card:
