Challenges are fun, especially when you love the theme. For these 3 challenges - it was butterflies! Everyone's favorites. The challenge for What Will You Stamp #218 was to use the Butterfly Gala Stampin' Up! set. The challenge for Stamp Ink Paper #198 was "Wings of Wonder" - birds or butterflies and to put it together was the Hand Stamped Sentiment Sketch Challenge #314:
I stamped the Playful Backgrounds striped image on the right side of an A2 size Whisper White card stock with Versmark Ink and then heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.
To create the circle layering image, I ran a piece of Vellum card stock through the Big Shot with a Layering Circle Framelit and next through the Polka Dot Textured Impression Embossing Folder. This gave me raised areas that I could paint with Versamark ink, either using the Versamark Pen (not sold by Stampin' Up!) or Versamark ink refill. I sprinkled Gold Emboss powder on each dot and heated gently with the Heat Tool. The gold polka dot areas gave me a spot to put Tombow Liquid Glue on the back to adhere Vellum to the to the card so that the glue wouldn't show through.
The rest of the card was pretty quick. First I trimmed the panel with the largest Rectangle Stitched Framelit. Since I had previously colored a bunch of butterflies from the Butterfly Gala set with Stampin 'n Write markers, I chose 2 that I felt coordinated the best. They were attached with Mini Glue Dots and finished with 3 Gold Metallic Pearls each. The sentiment is from the same set and is white heat embossed on Basic Black card stock.
The card was mounted onto a Whisper White Thick card stock A2 base and a piece of the Pick A Pattern Washi Tape place on the right side.
The inside is a simple "Happy Anniversary" from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp set and a couple of pieces of the same Washi Tape underneath.
I hope you feel some inspiration and give these challenges a try! They really help to focus your thoughts to create some fun cards. Here are the ;inks for the products I used today and thanks for sticking to the end!
