Home Decor with Digis

Hi crafty friends and welcome to Tuesday: Digi Choosday over at Polkadoodles! The Design Team challenge today was to make something Christmas inspired but it must be anything but a card.
I have several of these thick frames cover with printed paper which I purchased at Michaels on a closeout years ago. I thought I would make a seasonal wreath on it, in a  mixed media style. I started with Polkadoodles' Paper Heaven 3 from the Work & Play 10 Collection (#bp-18) (the one on the far left):
I felt that it most look like wood. I printed the paper on my inkjet printer and adhered with Ranger Multi Medium Matte to the top of the home decor frame.
I did brush the edges with Liquitex Acrylic Gesso paint and splattered with watered down Gesso. I like to use Tim Holtz's Distress Splatter Brush in his Splat box for watered down paints.

I also gave it a good splattering with Dina Wakley Media White Gloss, as well. It is a spray, but I pull out the nozzle and tap it for some nice drops of white.
I pulled in several of the leaf and poinsettia images into a Word.doc and resized and flipped for a variation of sizes. Next I printed some onto Ranger Watercolor Paper and some onto white cardstock with my Brother laser printer. I cut them all with my Brother Scan 'n Cut and had a nice pile to watercolor. I used my favorites from The Stamp Market Color Crush Set and Altenew's 24 Half Pan Watercolor Set.
Then the fun began: just played around with the layout and kept adding more and more...some popped up with foam squares...some flat.
I am not picking up the sparkle too well on the pictures, but with all the added bling it really does sparkle!
Amazing the things you can create with digital images and so inexpensively! If you buy your Polkadoodles' digital products on a Tuesday there is always a sale - usually around 35% discount. How great is that! That's when I pick up the bundles for there are a ton of products in each bundle....Enjoy!

I will be submitting my work to the following challenges:

1) NBUS

Watercolored Scarecrow & Pumpkins

It's Tuesday and that means another Digi ChoosDay at Polkadoodles!
We (the Design Team) were challenged to create an Autumn card and when I saw this cute cute scarecrow from the Autumn/Fall digi stamps - MONO bundle I knew that is what I wanted to color! If you take a look at this bundle you'll also see the bushels of apples that I painted for the last DigiChooseDay challenge.
Here was the last challenge using the bushels of apples - both of these cards used digital images from the Autumn/Fall Digi Stamp - Bundle:
Today's card is a 5" X 7" sized card painted with Kuretake Zigs Clean Color Real Brush Markers onto Bristol Smooth paper. I used a Pigma Micron Pen to create hand stitch lines along the edges. I should mention that I print the digital image through my Brother laser printer so that I can watercolor.
The sentiment comes from Quotes - Winnie Special Moments and I think it is just perfect for this card!
These days we are back in the office working after 17 months working from home. My crafting time has been drastically cut due to commuting, etc. So now I mostly color during lunch and believe it or not, I can get a lot done in a week.
Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting. If you love to craft, check out Polkadoodles shop. They have over 4000 digital images - something for everybody!

Harvest Adventures

Hi friends and welcome to The Card Concept #161 called Harvest Adventures:
My card is a Mixed Media Style. I started with this cool stencil from A  Colorful Life Designs called: Pumpkins:
Along with my Wendy Vecchi Make Art-Stay-tion and various Distress Inks, I ink blended the stencil
The truck is from Spellbinder's Truckin' Through the Season and "Grateful" is from their Even More Sentiments:
Here are the sentiments so this makes the truckin' set so versatile:
I used colored cardstock with a bit of ink blending for the vehicle and watercolored paper with autumn colors for the pumpkins.
Popped up the truck and pumpkins and finished with a few enamel dots.
Thanks for joining me today and I hope you have a chance to play along with us at The Card Concept. We loved to see what you create!

Paper Funday Oct. 2021

It's October and time for a new The Paper Funday Challenges.
The challenges s
tart the first Weds. of each month. One of our sponsors this month, the one I choose was Paper Nest Dolls:
I picked this fun digital stamp called Halloween Sign:

I printed the image onto Ranger Watercolor Paper twice on a laser printer, one for the background and one to run through my Brother Scan 'n Cut so that I could pop it up right over the image on the background.
The background was watercolored with Daniel Smith Phthalo Green (Blue Shade) - one of my favorite colors!

Watercolored several layers and then splattered away!
I wasn't happy with my coloring of the digital words so I stamped "Happy Halloween" with a stamp from my stash with Altenew's Obsidian Black Ink and sprinkled with Altenew's Crisp Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I tried to color it to match the sign and popped it up.
Love the little spider!
Here is the inside sentiment:
Thank you to the Paper Nest Dolls for the sponsorship and I hope you come and play along with us at The Paper Funday Challenges!
