CAS Watercolor Card with Freezer Paper

Welcome to my blog post for the Clean and Simple Watercolor Challenge May 2019-"For a Child":
I was working with freezer paper earlier this month:
and wanted to continue using this technique. I punched 3 balloons out of kitchen freezer paper using the Balloon Bouquet Punch. Then I ironed them onto a piece of Stampin' Up! watercolor paper with the shiny side down. To do this, use a warm, dry iron and place a piece of copy paper over the watercolor paper to keep the card clean.
Next, I taped the piece to a board using Delicate Painters Tape (yellow) (in the paint dept. at Lowe's Hardware). To watercolor, the front of the card was dampened with a large brush and clean water. Next using reinkers - Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay drop in with a wet watercolor brush and let blend - right over the freezer paper balloons. Let dry thoroughly and before removing from the board, splatter with watered down Smoky Slate reinker.
To remove the freezer paper, gently heat with the heat tool and remove gently. If any color bled underneath simply use a white gel pen and color in. I use the Black Stamp 'N Write marker and drew in the strings for the balloons. The bows were cut from the Whisper White card stock with an Apron Builder Framelit. The word "Happy" was die cut 3 times the same way using the Well Written Framelit set and glued together with Tombow Liquid Adhesive.
I covered the front of both the 3 bows and the word "happy" with Tombow and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter. I also dotted glue here and there over the front of the card and sprinkled with the same glittered. Who doesn't love some bling? Hard to pick up in the picture, but the card is really sparkly.
The inside is a simple sentiment with the Perennial Birthday stamp set and the balloons stamp from the Little Elephant set.

I believe this card would be good for any child, boy or girl. Blue is universal!

Colour Inkspiration #55 with Freezer Paper

Hello and welcome to my blog for Facebook's Colour Inkspiration #55 Challenge where we have 6 color choices and we must use at least 3:
The colors I choose were: Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lime Twist and Smoky Slate. I wanted to try out an old school technique using freezer paper. The idea is that you punch out or die cut images and/or words out of grocery store freezer paper. The shiny side should be the underside. I punched out the largest elephant from the Elephant Builder Punch and the words "welcome baby" from the Well Written Framelit Dies to create this card.

The freezer paper pieces were placed shiny side down on a 1/2 piece of Stampin' Up! Watercolor paper. Taking this to my ironing board, I then put a piece of plain copy paper over top of it to protect. I ironed the images with a low dry iron until the freezer paper was adhered tightly to the Watercolor paper.
I then taped the piece to a wooden board with yellow painters tape. I then was able to apply water with a wide paint brush over the words and the elephant and drop in Coastal Cabana and Lemon Lime Twist inks and then let dry thoroughly. Once totally dried, I splattered that front with watered down Smoky Slate ink. I then reheated the freezer paper images with my heat tool and then gently pulled them up off the paper with tweezers. The ink did bleed through in a couple of places, but I simply filled in with a white gel pen.

Wink of Stella on the elephant and a few Rhinestones finished the front.
The inside is a simple sentiment and stamp of the elephant with hearts all from the Little Elephant stamp set.
Such a fun technique which could be used in so many ways. Give it a try! I want to thank Kristina Werner of Online Card Classes for the inspiration and description of the Freezer Paper technique.

Here are the Stampin' Up! products I used and the links to purchase. Lemon Lime Twist will be discontinued after June 3, 2019 and it is one of my favorite colors to use:
