Guest Designer for TTTC207

Today I am honored to be the Guest Designer for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #207:
Looking over the challenge, I thought I would start with the Purple choice because I very seldom do...don't know why for it is a lovely color.
I created a CAS (Clean and Simple) card with the diagonal choices of Purple, Dry Emboss and Die Cut.
The butterflies are from Simon Says Stamp Graceful Butterfly Set. This is an embossing folder along with the matching cutting dies. I choose to die cut the butterflies first and then nestle them in the embossing folder and run it through my Big Shot for that great texture.
The background embossing folder is from Pink and Main called Catch a Wave. I thought it had great movement for flying butterflies. A little light ink blending with Altenew's Lavender Fields and Ultraviolet on both the background and the butterflies gave it that Purple Haze we needed.
The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Background. One stamp set with 18 different sentiments that you die cut one time with the Simple Strips Die. I liked these so much that I also bought the Simple Strips Storage boxes to hold all the different sentiments.
For sparkle, I used Hero Arts Sparkle Clear Lacquer Pen both on the butterfly edges and the background. A few Honey Bee Rainbow Gem Stickers in a lavender color sparkled up the card, too!
Thank you for joining me today and that you to #TTTC team for inviting me to Guest Design. This is such a fun challenge...come join in the fun!

Do You Love Butterflies?

Hi friends - just a quick post to showcase A Colorful Life Designs' Butterfly Flight Stencil which I just love!
The movement of this stencil is what really appeals to me and I had so many ideas of creating with it - I'll show two here. Here is the image of the stencil from the website:
For my first colorful card I ink blended several Ranger Ink's Distress Oxides in rainbow order: Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean and Prize Ribbon.
A few Honey Bee Small Clear Dew Drops and a sentiment from Hero Arts Birthday Messages (retired) finished off this card!
This next card uses 2 stencils from A Colorful Life Designs - layered. The first stencil is Butterfly Flight ink blended with Ranger Ink's Distress Oxides Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral.
The second step is layering the Milky Way Stencil:
I love the various sizes of the opening of the Milky Way Stencil. I used the same Distress Oxide colors right over the top of the Butterfly Flight Stencil for a second layer of interest.
I felt this card would be good for a sympathy card - muted but a bit uplifting. I realy thank you for joining me today and don't forget to use my discount code: AnitaFan10 for 10% your entire purchase at A Colorful Life Designs!

Wendy Vecchi with Freshly Make Sketches #428

Welcome to Sunday quarantined blog post! Actually I try to post once a week - at least that is my goal. With working from home for the time being, I have a couple of extra hours a day to be productive. Today's post is for Freshly Made Sketches weekly challenge. They have the best sketches to start inspiration working:

I have had this Wendy Vecchi set for about a month now and have stamped and colored all the images. I almost always start with Scrapbook.com's Black Hybrid Ink for stamping. I am not always sure what medium I am going to use to color and this way I am covered no matter what I choose for it won't bleed.

This set is at a amazing price point.  A little over $14.00 from Scrapbook.com. It is not just a stamp set, but includes a stencil and the matching dies. Just think of all the creative possibilities just with this one set!
I taped off the rows of dots on the stencil so that I could create a gold embossed background. I covered them with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Nuvo Glitter Embossing Gold Enchantment Powder and heat set. I repeated the process about 4 times until I knew it would cover a circle for the background. I used Jillian Vance's Polka Dot Circle Backdrop die to cut the circle.
The rest was pretty simple. I am using some Papertrey Ink White card stock I have had in my stash. It is a really beautiful white color and I used it for the base and the layered piece die cut with Spellbinder's Hemstitch Rectangles. I popped it up with fun foam using Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

The polka dot circle was adhered flat to the cover after slicing a bit off the side. The butterflies were colored by some alcohol markers from my stash (Stampin' Up!'s Stamp 'n Blends) and I traced all the lines with a Stardust Clear Glittering Gelly Roll pen. It leaves such a nice subtle gleam to the image. The sentiment is from My Favorite Thing's LJD Spring Tulips set. I thought for this time in our lives it was perfect. Lastly, a few Studio Katia Gold Foil Pearls finished it off.

Thanks for visiting with me today and my sincere wish for each of you is the "Each New Day brings hope."

CAS Watercolour August Challenge

Hi all! Time for the CAS Watercolour Challenge for the month of August 2019: Colorful Butterflies! I really enjoy the CAS challenges, for beside using the challenge requirements, you also have to leave plenty of white space, keeping it Clean and Simple.
To make the background behind the circle cut out, I used Fluid 100 Watercolor paper and Pigment Sprinkles in blue and greens with a wet on wet technique. My idea was to try and create movement with the background for butterflies to be flying around the circle.

I keep these Pigment Sprinkles in a watercolor pallet and let them dry in between uses. It's easy to reactivate the ink with water and/or add more sprinkles. I wanted to show you the "salt" shaker top of the sprinkles and my pallet.(See bottom left corner) I know it looks messy, but works well and is portable. I often color on my lunch hour at work.
Once I had the semi-dry blue and green water colored paper, I added water droplets and dabbed off with a paper towel. Next, I sprayed Frost White Shimmer Paint mixed with water in a Stampin' Spritzer. It has a really cool pearl shine.
The butterflies were stamped with Versamark on Fluid 100 paper with the Butterfly Gala set, sprinkled with Shimmer Black Embossing Powder and heat set. They have a great sparkle, too, but hard to capture in photos. They were water colored with the Pigment Sprinkles, too using all 6 colors.
I tried to create more movement with the "wind" like stamp from the Leave a Little Sparkle set. I stamped with Memento Black Ink onto the Whisper White card stock.
The sentiment is from the same Butterfly Gala set. White heat embossed onto Basic Black card stock and cut into a nice thin banner.
The inside was stamped with the "friend" sentiment from the Botanical Bliss stamp set and finished with a 3rd water colored butterfly. I wanted a card that could be sent for many occasions and left the inside quite generic.

Thank you for visiting my blog! Hopefully you are inspired!!! If you and would like to try any of these products here are the links to my online store:
