Sugar Pea Mix It Up Challenge #61

Another fun Christmas Card Challenge for Sugar Pea Designs. This one is a Mix-Up, so you can be inspired by either the colors on the left, or the sketch on the right, or both!

I used both for my card. I love to watercolor cards and create backgrounds. To start, I cut a 2 -5" X 7" piece of Arches 140 lb. cold press paper and secured it to an acrylic board. I use delicate painter tape. I then wet the entire piece with wide brush and then dropped on the following colors using my Kuretake Gansi Watercolors and a No. 8 Silver Black Velvet:
No. 58 Green
No. 44 Khaki
No. 20 Brown
No. 90 Gold.
I have such a large picture to try to show the center white panel. I used Simon Hurley's Back Splash Stencil over Neenah 100 lb. white card stock. I just dabbed Versamark over and over with the full pad straight down until the stencil design was covered. Then I used Ranger Detailed White Embossing powder over all of it and heat set. Once dry, I ran it through my Big Shot with one of Kat Scrappiness' Never Ending Rectangles.

Once the watercolor paper was dried, I cut out a star with my Scrapbook.com's Nested Star Die set. I also ran the other finished piece through my Big Shot with  one of Kat Scrappiness' Stitched Rectangles to give a nice clean edge.

The sentiment was gold heat embossed on MFT's Mike Chocolate card stock using a Scrapbook.com's sentiment from Holly Jolly and Nuvo Glitter Embossing Powder - Gold Enchantment. Just beautiful, but hard to capture in a photo. The fun shape for the sentiment strip was from MFT's Tag Builder Blueprint #6. A few Studio Katia gold foil pearls finished the front of the card.
The inside is also from the Holly Jolly stamp set with a small water-colored star and the little reindeer from that set.

I've linked all the products used below if you are interested in checking them out. With a few basic supplies, you can get a wide range of cards!

Thanks for sticking to the end!

Trinity Stamps Joyeux Noel for CAS Christmas Oct 19

Welcome friends to my blog post for the CAS Christmas Challenge Oct. 2019:
A winter scene! How fun! So many ideas...so little time.  But I have been wanting to play with my new Joyeux Noel 4 X 6 stamp set from Trinity Stamps:
This set just spoke to me for some reason. I just fell in love with this gentle deer looking up at the stars.
I started with Arteza 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper and stamped the deer, tree and largest star several times each using my MISTI and my Scrapbook.com Black Hybrid Ink (a non-bleeding ink with watercolors). I normally stamp at least 3 images so that I can practice coloring. Next, using my Scan 'n Cut I had all the images cut out at one time and chose not to have a white border.

For this card, I pulled out my Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and painted the images with a watercolor brush. I like them not only because they work beautifully, are vibrant and easy to transport, you can buy them in sets or individually. This way you can replace your most loved markers easily.
The card is a base of Lawn Fawn Kraft cardstock cut to 4 1/2" by 11" and scored at 5 1/2". For a CAS card there must be a lot of white space. In this case, I cut a piece of Neenah white cardstock with the Hero Arts Star Confetti Fancy Die. I did not plan to cut out the stars using my Big Shot, but just one pass. This way they did not cut all the way through. The gingham border was left over from a previous card post and I was happy to put it to good use! Right At Home's Gingham Background with black on cream cardstock, perfect. I adhered the 2 side gingham pieces to the white center and glued the whole panel onto Fun Foam which was cut to size. I love to use Fun Foam for it gives a nice even layer, perfect for mailing.
Hard to see, but I cut 2 pieces of white cardstock in the shape of snow hills and brushed Ranger's Distress Broken China along the top edges. I also ran these 2 pieces through Lawn Fawn's Just Stitching Double Rectangles. Some of the images were adhered flat, some popped with foam tape.

The sentiment is white heat embossed with Nuvo Detail Glacier White Embossing Powder. I have been using my Avery Elle Simple Sentiments die cuts to cut out sentiments for almost every card I make. I have such a hard getting even straight borders. They are perfect to use!
Such a pretty font "a star above that shines so bright" and the inside is "brings peace to all this holy night."
Lastly, the trees and nose of the deer were finished with Wink of Stella Glimmer Pen and the star with Stickles Icicle.

I hope you've enjoyed this card and take a look at the Trinity Stamps shop. The stamps work perfectly first time, no prepping! I am looking forward to working more with their products!

All products mentioned are linked below if you are interested. Thanks for sticking to the end!

Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop February 2019

Welcome to the Training Blog Hop for February 2019! We are all Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world working with Kylie Bertucci and her husband, Bruno to help us realize our potential.

There is no theme for this hop, just to use current Stampin' Up! products. I created an ink-blended background for another stamp challenge and created this card:
I had a half sheet on Shimmery White paper left which I had used to ink blend all the colors of the Sunday Stamps Challenge #197.
I sprinkled the half sheet with water droplets, pressed them off with a blue shop towels and I saw "stars"! I wanted to enhance that look so I watered down some Frost Shimmer White Paint on an acrylic block and swiped off drops to the half sheet with a paint brush. I made 2 cards from the half sheet.

Next, I used the stamps from the "Little Twinkle" stamp set and using the Stamparatus stamped several layers of each with Memento black ink. The card with the "heart stars" was quickly sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heat set for some added dimension.

The final touch was to back Silver Glimmer paper with a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet. I punch out stars with the "Twinkle Builder Punch". One card was layered with Basic Black card stock and both cards were die cut with the largest "Rectangle Stitched Framelit".

Please hop along with us! Here is the line-up.
