Stay Cool with A Colorful Life Designs

Hi my friends! Sadly, this is my last post a Guest Designer for May 2022 for A Colorful Life Designs, but the good news is that Mary Kay has invited me to be on A Colorful Life Designs' Design Team! Yah!!! So, if you follow my blog, you'll see a lot more of Mary Kay's wonderful stencils:
Here is the most versatile stencil ever! Sun & Surf Circle...I think I've made about 10 cards with this, but today I am just sharing one of my favorites! I made many backgrounds with this stencil sitting with hubby watching TV and didn't write down the colors, but they are Distress Inks for sure.
I've used a Whimsy Stamps Digital Image called Ice Cream Penguin. This weekend (Memorial Day 2022) Whimsy Stamps' Digital Images are 50% off!
Printed on the rough side of Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper with my Brother laser printer. I wanted that texture for the penguin. To watercolor the image, I used Daniel Smith's 238 Dot Cards
I happen to have WOW Sparkling Sand Embossing Powder by Jo Firth Young. I lightly swiped Tsukineko Versamark Watermark Pen on the card and sprinkled the "sand" and heat embossed it.
Glossy Accents and Wink of Stella were added after I fussy cut out this little guy. Popped him up with foam tape.
The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson Stay Cool Stamp & Die Set by Julie Ebersole. Something about this card, I just love! The bright and colorful background with the simplicity of the sentiment and image. Just my style.
Thanks for being with me this month for my journey with A Colorful Life Designs. Enjoyed the creating immensely. See you soon!

Chill Vibes with A Colorful Life Designs

Memorial Day is fast approaching and I have a couple more posts for A Colorful Life Designs as one of their Guest Designers for May 2022. If you haven't been following my posts, A Colorful Life Designs is a woman owned company out of Dallas, Texas. Mary Kay, the owner, designs and creates the amazing array of unique and innovative stencils she has for sale. If you'd like to shop and pick up a few stencils, just click on the links in blue and you can save 10% with my discount code on your entire order: AnitaFan10.
This stencil (Picture from Mary Kay's website) is called Messy Diamond Grid:
If you love Mixed Media like I do this stencil is a keeper! I want to use it with paste and gels for an art journal and a canvas for home decor for future projects. For this card I used Ranger's Distress Ink Prize Ribbon with the stencil over a panel of  Bristol Smooth Paper. I tried to keep the color really dark in the middle and fade out to the edges.
We are a dog loving family, so I am always are drawn to good dog stamps and dies. These cuties are from Newton's Nook called Beach Barks & Beach Barks Die Set. Stamped with Altenew's Obsidian Black Pigment Ink onto Ranger's Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper. I almost always use this paper through my laser printer for digital stamp and have lots of scraps left over. They are perfect for stamped images. I did use Altenew's Crisp Clear Embossing Powder quickly once stamped for that nice glossy appearance.
I did a quick watercolor with my Daniel Smith 238 Dot Set - it is great to have all the color choices! I always like to have the coordinating die - look how it cut out between the images - for I find it hard to do any other way. Also, the little shells that come with the set make for fun embellishments, too!
The sentiment, Chill Vibes, is from Ellen Hutson Stay Cool by Julie Ebersole set.
So I hope you all have a "chill" summer and check out the links for these fun fun products!
I will be posting to:

Cheers Dad with A Colorful Life Designs

Cheers, friends! My Guest Designer card for A Colorful Life Designs today uses the Floating Blocks Stencil. I've used it before, but this time it is the entire subtle background.
Here is the image of the Floating Blocks Stencil from Mary Kay's website:
I used Ranger Ink Distress Oxide in Tumbled Glass with a light hand for the background, but  I believe the blocks images really stand out. The beer glass is from Visible Images stamp set called Bring On The Beers.
Stamped in browns on Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper and watercolored with browns, golds and a little blue. Glossy Accent on the foam. All fussy cut.
Simple sentiments on the outside and in from Waffle Flower's Home Brew stamp set.
Thank you for joining me today and if you shop for any of these items, I would appreciate if you used the links provided in this blog AND for A Colorful Life Designs I have a 10% off your complete order discount code:

With Love with A Colorful Life Designs

My month as the Guest Designer for A Colorful Life Designs is going by so quickly! Today card is very subtle but that is just the type a background I love. It's there and creates all the drama in a quiet way. If you do shop at A Colorful Life Designs click on the links in this blog to their website and use my discount code: AnitaFan10 for 10% off your entire order!
Today's stencil is called Stylized Four Petals and it is such a versatile stencil:
I choose to ink blend only one color: Ranger Ink's Distress Oxide - Salvaged Patina darker where I wanted the focal point and fade out to the edges:
I cut the panel with Penny Black Dainty Dashes Stackers for a design around the edge of the card panel. I almost always use a die to cut a card front panel for some reason I can't ever cut the panel straight with my cutter!
The rest of the die cuts on the card came from Sizzix: Flowers in Umbrella #665180. Even the little bird. I die cut most of the flowers and umbrella from scraps of watercolored paper I had in my stash where I was playing with Ken Oliver's Watercolor Powder:
You get those fun bursts of color and I tried to line up the die cuts to reflect those smatterings of color.
I've left the inside blank until I have an occasion to use this card - birthday, thinking of you, baby or bridal shower...lots of different occasions. But it all tied together with the Stylized Four Petals stencil!
Thank you for sticking to the end and I will be posting my card to the following challenges:

Father's Day with A Colorful Life Designs

More Father's Day cards! Yes, once I get started it's hard to stop creating with the stencils from:
Today I wanted to use this stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Floating Blocks:
I made 2 cards (big surprise!) both with the same background, just different sized fish on the cover:
I created the background by ink blending a few Distress Oxides onto Bristol Smooth card stock: Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans through the Floating Blocks stencil.
Then I ran the ink blended panels through a Pink and Main embossing folder called: Catch A Wave.
And viola! A cool background with lots of movement for the fish!
The fish are stamped from Jessica Lynn Original set called Fishing on Phantom Lake watercolored and fussy cut.
Really has such great movement!
The outside sentiment strip is from Taylored Expressions Mini Strips called You're the Best.
Here is the coordinating die - cuts them all out at once!
The inside sentiment is from Waffle Flower's Home Brew Stamp Set:
Thanks for joining me today and if you'd like to purchase an of the amazing stencils from A Colorful Life Designs, click on the link and be sure to use the discount code AnitaFan10 for 10% off your entire purchase!
