Welcome to the Card Concept Challenge #148 called Sweetheart Sweets! When I saw these yummy cupcakes I knew I wanted to try and replicate the images and colors in a Mixed Media card (Definition 2 or more mediums). I used heat embossing and watercolors.
The entire card is made with one stamp by Impression Obsession called Heart Cupcake with a sentiment added. Perfect for the inspiration picture!
One of my favorite ways to make a card is to create my own watercolored background paper with repeat stamping. This is what I did here using my favorites:
1) Stonehenge White Cold Press Watercolor sheet - cut to A2 size.
6) SugarPea Designs Card Front Element Builder II (outside dotted rectangle).
Don't you just love the saturation of the Altenew Watercolors? Bright and vibrant...my type of card.
For some additional interest, I cut out the center with one of my Square Backdrop Dies from Jillian Vance. It leaves a classic embossed edge which I really like on my card. You can see it well in this picture, plus the small dotted edge from the rectangle from SugarPea Designs Card Build Element II set.
I am not sure where the sentiment is from! I keep previously heat embossed sentiments in a bag on my desk and this came from there. I used a few Altenew Red Cosmos Enamel Dots to finish the card.
Thanks so much for visiting today and give this challenge a try! We'd love to see what you create.

Welcome

I am a wife of 45 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.
