Hi friends...welcome to my blog post for Inspire. Create. #059 Sketch Challenge:
My boss just had surgery and I wanted to make him a card. He likes punny cards and I thought this Art Impressions Doggy Kisses set was perfect.
I started by stamping all the images with Scrapbook.com's Black Hybrid Ink on Bristol Smooth card stock. I used Zigs Clean Color Real Brush markers to water color all the images.
In order to cut them all out at once, I used my Brother Scan 'n Cut. Once you get use to the settings needed for each type of paper, it does an amazing job. Here is a picture of the images after cut by the Scan 'n Cut.
The background was made with Taylored Expressions 6 X 6 Designer Circle Masking Stencil. They have both the positive and the negative stencil. For this card I put a small piece of re-positional adhesive on the back of the circle stencil and positioned it on the front of the card. I laid the Studio Katia Square Brick Stencil at an angle on the front over the circle mask. Using Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap Ink and Scrapbook.com's Ink Blending Tool, I ink blended dark to light from the center out to the edge. These foam blending tools work really well and the more you use them and have them full of ink, the better they work.
The background was cut with Kat Scrappiness' Double Stitched Rectangle Dies. It creates both an inside and outside stitched line. Aside from the doggy image, which was popped up with foam adhesive, the entire card is flat.
The final embellishments on the outside are from Pretty Pink Posh - the Celebration Confetti Mix. The inside has the funniest sentiment. To finish the inside I stamped the same doggy image with Scrapbook.com's Wood 3 "Leather" for a tone on tone look.
Thanks for sticking to the end! All products used are linked below if you like to check them out. Happy crafting.

Welcome

I am a wife of 45 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.
