Black & White Color Challenge for Stampin' Up! Team

Hi all. Welcome to my blog for a group color challenge issued by my Stampin' Up! Demo Team "Stampers For Others".This week it is to make a card using, black & white and metallic.
Once again, I though of Christmas and snowflakes swirling in the air. I am from Buffalo, NY and saw plenty of snowflakes, but I have lived in the South for many years now and haven't seen too many. Still fun to make a card with them, not to shovel them!

I started with a Whisper White thick card stock base and a piece of regular Whisper White which I ran through the Big Shot with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Next I stamped and heat embossed the swirly image from the Leave a Little Sparkle set to mimic wind:
The 3 different snowflakes were die cut from the Seasonal Layers Dies with regular Whisper White card stock. To make them "sparkle" I pressed each one into the Versamark ink pad front side down, sprinkled the new Shimmer White Emboss Powder on them and heat set with our Stampin' Up! heat tool set on #2 (the highest setting). I held them each with a tweezer to keep them from blowing around my desk! The snowflakes were adhered to the card with Tombow Liquid Adhesive. Teeny, tiny drops.

The image doesn't really pick up the sparkle, but they are glittery!!!
I simply finished the front of the card with a sentiment from the Making Christmas Bright set which was white heat embossed on Basic Black card stock. Next I trimmed it to a narrow banner with my cutter and created the flag end with a small Rectangle Stitched Die (in the Big Shot) at an angle in the corner. A few gold Metallic Pearls finished the front.
I had an extra couple of snowflakes that I adhered to the inside and stamped a sentiment with Memento Black Ink from the same Making Christmas Bright stamp set.

This was a pretty quick, CAS card for me and I am slowly building my Christmas Card stash for December!

Thank you for sticking to the end and if you would like to purchase any of the items shown today from my Stampin' Up! online store, just click on one of the links below.:
